Objective: Persea americana is a popular plant that well known for its fruit, which highly consumed due to nutritional and medicinal values. The rich secondary metabolites content of P. creates an opportunity utilize it as functional food or standardized herbal preparations. quality determined by the active substances produced plant. Therefore, purpose present study determine in grown uncultivated farmland Ogbomoso, Oyo State Nigeria. Methods: dried pulvurised leaves from Nigeria were extracted with methanol maceration method partitioned successively solvents increasing polarity. extracts obtained subjected phytochemical screening total phenolics spectrometrically using folin–ciocalteu method. Results: showed various such flavonoids, saponins, tannins, alkaloids. phenolic gave 500µg/g gallic acid equivalent. flavonoid was 250µg/g quercetin standard. anti-oxidant assay crude extract high activity 89.05% at concentration 0.05g/ml.
